Job Overview: BOMCAS Canada is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with a deep understanding of Canadian payroll regulations to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing payroll processes for our clients, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for their employees while adhering to the intricacies of Canadian payroll laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with clients to gather accurate and complete employee payroll data.
  • Process and calculate employee salaries, wages, overtime, and bonuses in accordance with provincial and federal labor laws.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll regulations, tax requirements, and employment standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation and adjust processes accordingly.
  • Prepare and distribute accurate paychecks or electronic transfers to employees, factoring in deductions, benefits, and other variables.
  • Administer statutory deductions, such as income tax, CPP, and EI contributions, and remit them to appropriate authorities.
  • Manage employee benefits, including health plans, retirement contributions, and other deductions.
  • Maintain meticulous records of employee earnings, taxes, deductions, and contributions.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax forms, including T4 and T4A statements, and remit source deductions on time.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxation, and compensation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive payroll solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant diploma or certification in payroll administration or accounting.
  • Proven experience as a payroll specialist with expertise in Canadian payroll regulations.
  • Proficiency in Canadian payroll software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and provincial payroll regulations, tax requirements, and compliance.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing complex payroll data.
